Beloved artist Yoshitomo Nara from Aomori, Japan, gathers personal photographs taken throughout the duration of his life in 2014 to 2018. As these photographs were not planned to be shown to the world, instead Nara would use any device on hand (film, digital, cellphone) and capture “the value of easily overlooked scenes and lives'“. The artist would use the view finder of his camera as a “window” and the canvas as a “mirror”, Which translates in many of his paintings. Nara mainly used his photographs as research, where you can find it all in this book — his beautiful perspective of life matches his art in reality.
