Over a period of two years, writer-photographer Kyoichi Tsuzuki visited a hundred apartments, condos and suburban homes, and lovingly documented what he saw. Cluttered closet-sized walk-ups whose occupants who use their neighborhood as an "extended living room."
Tsuzuki’s goal was to capture raw, realistic images of architecture of Japanese citizens that live their day to day life in the homes that they work hard for. It is somewhat comforting to see piles of books in a cramped space, tv remote left on the ground and pizza menus scattering the coffee/dinner table, with instant noodle cups left on the kitchen counter for days on end. This is the Tokyo Style that Kyoichi Tsuzuki captures so beautifully.
