Takashi Homma & Mikako Ichikawa - Portrait

For this small-format book, photographer Takashi Homma collaborated with Japanese model and actress Mikako Ichikawa to produce a series of portraits. The images express a narrative language, depicting her elusive individual character. At times, she is a self-assured woman of singular beauty. More often, she comes across as a precocious, occasionally awkward girl. Her expressions are at once rebellious and vulnerable, her poses both unconsidered and fully self-aware. The series of portraits, photographed as if following her everyday life, engages the viewer’s curiosity, evoking a sense of intrigue, and a certain fascination with this mysterious female protagonist.
